*As I chose to use all the same types of materials (cotton, fleece and webbing) as the designer of this pattern, I inquired as to washing it on a gentle cycle in a machine and was told it "would be best to just wipe clean with a damp cloth, but if you do choose to wash it, only allow it to air dry, do not place it in a dryer." So if the choice is made to wash this bag, please understand that you will be doing so at your own risk :-)
Gal Alex Bags
Meet the Maker
Hello! I'm Angie ~ Welcome to my shop, Gal Alex Bags, which I lovingly chose from a combination of my children's middle names.
I create meticulously handcrafted one-of-a-kind bags and wallets in my home sewing room. My interest in sewing began during my middle school years, when I learned the basics, like how to sew pillow covers and pot holders. Over time, I moved on to aprons, curtains, Barbie doll clothing, and more. Then in 2021, I branched out into making my own purses, just so I could carry something different from what I was finding in the stores. So, with the help of online patterns and YouTube tutorials, my dedication to sewing unique bags and wallets blossomed.
It's a very enjoyable and therapeutic process deciding exactly how I'd like a finished item to look, preparing all the materials, then sewing it into existence. And I especially love making others happy with my creations. As a result, my friends and family have been so positive and supportive throughout my journey that they were finally able to convince me to start an online shop.
I hope you enjoy browsing, and I'd love it if you found something you simply can't live without. Thank you for visiting, and please return!
How it’s Made
Every item in my shop is handmade by me, with the use of my industrial sewing machines, in my smoke-free and pet-free home. I strive to use only the highest quality vinyl, cork, cotton and canvas that I can, along with premium bonded nylon thread and choice hardware, in order to create distinctive yet durable, long-lasting accessories. The time commitment for each of my items varies depending on size and difficulty, but are typically made over a three to four day period. No two bags or wallets will ever be exactly alike, as I find much more enjoyment in all the endless combinations of materials and patterns!
Shop Policies
All Sales Are Final. As all of my items are handmade and require many hours of work, they are not returnable.
Processing Time: Your purchase will be shipped FREE (US contiguous 48 ONLY) usually on the same day as your order, otherwise it will be the very next day; a tracking number will be provided.
Packaging: All items will be carefully packaged with gift tissue paper and shipped in reused boxes, to help reduce landfill waste.
Care Instructions: None of my items should be machine washed; for vinyl, cork, cotton or canvas, wipe clean only with a damp cloth. Waxed canvas, while durable, will still show marks and creases even more over time, due to its "naturally distressed" look, but can be wiped clean gently with a damp cloth if needed. And to clarify, any bags with water-resistant canvas are only resistant to liquids; any liquid will bead on the surface, but still soak in very slowly. This type of fabric is not considered waterproof.
